IMASA built in the municipality of Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico, a photovoltaic solar park of 15,82 MWp DC/13,6 MW AC.

The project involves the design, construction and commissioning of a photovoltaic solar park of 15,82 MWp DC. It will be the first solar park that will connect to the network in the state of Chihuahua and the country's second largest.

The photovoltaic plant will be built in an area of about 100 hectares, and includes the installation and commissioning of photovoltaic modules with a capacity between 305 W to 310 W each, strings with single-axis solar tracking systems, processing, output inverters nominal, a collector substation and a transmission line of 115 kV that will extend approximately 450 meters to transmit energy to the electric substation "Moctezuma" of the CFE, and a SCADA system for monitoring and control.

The project will provide new capacity for power generated from renewable sources in the region, reducing the demand for energy produced from fossil fuel production and avoid emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants from generation hydrocarbon-based energy.

Environmental and human health arising from the installation of 13.7 MW of renewable energy capacity results are:

  • Approximately 40.1 GWh of electricity during the first year of operation.
  • The emissions produced by approximately 16,509 metric tons / year of carbon dioxide, 0.1 metric tons / year of sulfur dioxide and 57.6 metric tons / year of nitrogen oxides will be avoided.
