IMASA is awarded the contract for a 241 million USD second cement plant, thus consolidating its presence in Bolivia.

IMASA INGENIERIA Y PROYECTOS, S.A., signed on March 21 an EPC contract with the Bolivian state-owned cement company ECEBOL to build a new cement plant worth 241 million dollars.

IMASA INGENIERIA Y PROYECTOS, S.A., one of the top Spanish Engineering and Construction companies, in collaboration with ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions and Valoriza, signed on March 21 an EPC contract with the Bolivian state-owned cement company ECEBOL to build a new cement plant worth 241 million dollars. The expected duration of the project is 3 years and the plant will be installed 4,000 meters above sea level in the community of Chiutara, municipality of Potosí, in Bolivia.

The signing act took place last Tuesday 21 and it was attended by the President of the country, Evo Morales, and Consortium managers. 

IMASA is currently building in the Department of Oruro (Bolivia), in conjunction with the aforementioned companies, another cement plant with the same capacity, 1.3 million tons of cement a year. Both plants will cover over 50% of the internal demand.

IMASA is also executing the EPC contract that includes the design, supply, construction, assembly and commissioning of a new clinker line with a 2,600 tons/day capacity in Riobamba (Ecuador) for UCEM (National Cement Union). 

With these projects, IMASA consolidates its leadership in the construction of cement plants, a sector in which it has over 25 years' experience executing projects, it consolidates its presence in Latin America and it continues with its internationalization plan, being already present in more than ten countries, such as Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador, Morocco, South Africa, Portugal and Israel, where it is making use of its great technical and technological capability to execute various EPC projects in sectors such as cement, power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical product storing facilities, iron & steel, mining and storage yards, bulk transportation and handling.

Thanks to this geographical diversification, international contracts make up over 80% of its business in total.
